Dating back to 1858 this City Centre grade II listed building has an amazing detailed balconied stairway throughout the building. All 363 bedrooms have recently been tastefully decorated and all furnished with TV, Hairdryer, Trouser Press and Tea and Coffee making facilities. There are some rooms that do not have a window but most of these have skylights and are air-conditioned, ideal for the budget conscious! The hotel also boasts three great restaurants that include Jennys Restaurant, with its excellent value for money 3-course Carvery Lunch and Dinner, and The Overstuffed Pizzeria, with a varied selection of Italian Dishes and lighter meals in bright surroundings. In addition, there is also Cromptons restaurant, which offers an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. This restaurant prides itself on providing excellent service and a wide selection of international dishes served in elegant surroundings. The menu is inspired by the finest flavours from around the world and offers an extensive choice at very reasonable prices. The Britannia Hotel Manchester also offers four bars, Cromptons being the residents bar, Jennys serving the restaurant, the vibrant Waves Bar (open till late for residents and non-residents) and Bar Rogue, a popular Nightclub in the city centre. After 19 Miles the M56 becomes the Princess Parkway at the end is a roundabout take 2nd Exit onto Medlock St this becomes Albion St. Turn right at the lights onto Great Bridgewater St, this becomes Chepstow St and then Portland St the Hotel is just past the CIS building.From the East: Off the M62 Junction 20 signed RochdaleOldhamAshton (A627M) after 5 miles turn right onto Oldaham Rd. After 3 miles turn left onto Great Ancoats St take the first turning right at the lights onto Newton St. Stay straight to go onto Portland St. The Hotel is on the left after Westminster House.From North: From M6 take the M61 Exit (Junction 30) towards ManchesterBolton M62 Leeds. Merge onto the M61 then take the M60. After 1 mile take the M602M62 Exit (Junction 12) Signed SalfordLiverpoolBirmingham. Merge onto Eccles Interchange.
